Welcome

Supporting Reachout Pregnancy Center

  Shirley

“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:3-7).

It is with mixed emotions that I tell you that I will be retiring from Reachout Pregnancy Center as soon as a new director is hired and trained.

I can never say “thank you” enough for your continued prayers and support of our mission: To provide loving support and education for pre- and post-natal women so that they choose life for their babies, and to help women heal emotionally from their abortions.

You have been such an encouragement and inspiration to me these past 14 years. Your dedication to women who may be facing an unplanned pregnancy has motivated me and our volunteers to keep putting our hands to the plow so that we can encourage our clients to say “yes” to life for their babies. Your financial support has allowed us to keep our doors open, and I know that you will continue this support as we continue to work toward our 20-year vision.

Reachout is in good hands. We have been blessed with a wonderful group of volunteers, staff, and board of directors. They work so hard to help women, men, and children during a difficult time.

My experience at Reachout has been a positive one. It is so rewarding to be there and to comfort and encourage a woman when she finds out that she is pregnant when she doesn’t want to be; to rejoice when a woman finds out that she is pregnant and wants a child; to see the smile on a mother’s face when she comes in for a sonogram and hears the heartbeat of her unborn child; to see a child’s face as he or she sees the clothing or toy they will receive from us; to see the smile on a new mother’s face when she receives a baby starter set; to help a teenager finish school; to help a woman heal emotionally from the trauma of her abortion. Your prayers and financial support have allowed these events to happen.

May God continue to bless you and the work of Reachout Pregnancy Center.

RETIREMENT CELEBRATION

RETIREMENT CELEBRATION, by Yolanda Lopez In honor of Shirley Marquis' 14 years of dedication, devotion and commitment to "life", Reachout Pregnancy Center held a celebration, Sunday afternoon, August 5, 2007. God blessed Reachout through Shirley by the many gifts He bestowed upon hen Shirley has many wonderful attributes. but I'll focus on three – her great faith, incredible insight, and her love for people, especially babies. Oh, by the way she does have one more passion and that is her love for the Red Socks, but. I won't focus on that today. But, be-cause of her faith and love for people, she's helped countless women in crises through encouragement, support and prayer. She has experienced the wonder of seeing many babies on the ultra-sounds and moms choosing life. Shirley has also been there for the downtrodden and broken hearted who needed clothing, formula or a shoulder to cry on. She has been a great inspiration to many. Not only has she helped our clients, but because of her great insight she has been a mentor to the volunteers. Shirley has encouraged many to take leadership positions at Reachout – whether on the Board of Directors or as counseling/client advocates. She never was quite satisfied with leaving things status quo, so we are also, thankful to her for giving impetus to our Post-Abortion program. Many new programs started under her careful guidance. Shirley was presented with a beautiful plaque and two inspirational hooks – humble gifts in honor of her many years of service to Reachout. We are most grateful to God for the gift of Shirley, for her faith and her inspiration, but most of all for being a good friend to all. Yours in Christ, Yolanda Lopez
