“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.”
The Lord has been faithful to pour out His peace to the women who
come to Reachout for healing. Those who serve in the
post abortion healing ministry have the honor and privilege of walking
along side the women (and soon men) on their journey from the bondage of
the sin of abortion to freedom in Christ, from death to life, from
mourning to dancing, from anxiety to peace. For many
the transformation is life changing. The peace that
passes all understanding becomes theirs as God puts His healing hand
upon them. I am reminded of the words of Mark
Herringshaw, a Pastor at North Heights Lutheran Church in Minneapolis,
MN when he spoke at the St. Paul Cathedral during the Respect Life
Prayer Service in January. “Peace” is a rich word.
Peace is more than the absence of conflict or violence.
It is the presence of wholeness. Behind Paul’s
language in Philippians rests the Hebrew word, “Shalom.” Shalom is,
Nothing missing; nothing broken. We pray, “Shalom” in the wombs of all
mothers, that nothing would be missing; nothing would be broken.
We pray, “Shalom” at the bedsides of the aging and weak and
helpless, that nothing would be missing; nothing would be broken.
We pray, “Shalom” in the laboratories and test tubes of those who
would tinker with sacred life, that nothing would be missing; nothing
would be broken. We pray, “Shalom” for the hearts
even more of those who have had abortions, that grace and peace would
heal all wounds, that nothing would be missing; nothing would be
broken.” And so at Reachout we pray and we reach out
with “Shalom”, in the person and love of Christ, the peace beyond all
human understanding to the men and women that come for healing.
In the Peace of Christ,
Jean Aggerbeck
“He
has sent me to bring glad tidings to the lowly, to heal the
brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and release to the
prisoners…to comfort all who mourn…to give them oil of
gladness in place of
mourning…”
Isaiah 61:1-3
Thank you for your continued prayers for
Reachout Healing Ministry
as we reach out to the lowly, brokenhearted, those held captive and
those who mourn a past abortion. Beginning in February, five men will
journey together to find healing.
Listen to this testimony of a man affected by his wife’s
abortion, “I never knew my wife had suffered so much pain over an
abortion she had before I met her.
It was a real eye opener to attend the Rachel’s Vineyard retreat
with her and offer my support in an area of her life where there was so
much secret grief. Our
marriage has truly been blessed.
We are closer now than we have ever been and I had the privilege
of being able to spiritually adopt her child during the Memorial
Service.” Please pray for
the courageous men who are reaching out for healing and will go forth as
a blessing to many.
The women’s post abortion ministry team has continued to train new
volunteers and walk with women on the path to healing after an abortion.
Father Joe Rodrigues will preside over a Memorial service for our newest
client, making him the fourth priest to be a part of this ministry. We
are so grateful for gentle and loving Priests who make themselves
available to men and women who are on the journey to wholeness.
Perhaps you know of someone who has had an abortion or a man who has
been affected by abortion.
Pray that they will have the courage to step forward to receive the
healing the Lord desires to give them.
Pray for the team as we plan for the future of Reachout Healing
Ministry.
This healing ministry continues to be free and available to all
who desire. Please call
